Inspired by the Duchess’ determination to pursue love in the face of social exile, Wally escapes into the arms of another man (Oscar Isaac) whose love sets her free. Madonna and a world class team of collaborators present a passionate tale of the search for love and the meaning of happiness. W.E. (for Wallis and Edward, forever entwined in the love story of the 20th century) is a rich, cinematic portrayal of two strong women resolved to find romance.
Director’s Bio
Madonna was born in Bay City, Michigan. She has won numerous Grammy Awards and was declared the world’s top-selling female recording artist of all time by Guinness World Records. She is also an author and Golden Globe Award–winning actor. Her films as director are Filth and Wisdom (08) and W.E. (11).
